PERSPECTIVES OF EARTH - TEAM MENTORSHIP

Receive Training for a Summer Paid Internship and Participate in Community Service!
Perspectives of Earth - Team Mentorship (PETM) is a project-based, team mentorship program where students work on real-world multifaceted environmental projects by integrating STEM and communication strategies.

WHO: Students in grades 9-12 from Framingham, Marlborough, and Milford.

WHAT: SUMMER PAID INTERNSHIP
• In-person at Framingham State University
• June 24 to July 26, 2024
• Six hours/day, Monday through Thursday; $15/hour, up to 120 hours

TO QUALIFY: ATTEND FOUR TRAINING SESSIONS - REQUIRED
• In-person at Framingham State University
• Four Saturdays from 10am to 4pm (lunch provided)
• January 13, February 3, March 16, April 13 (2024)
• Participation in these sessions may fulfill school or honor society community service requirements.

TO APPLY:
1. Attend an information session at your school.
2. Sign up by December 15, 2023 for required training.
3. After training, submit a full application for the internship. Application will be available on April 13, 2024.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE PROGRAM

You will meet monthly to:
Investigate environmental challenges with social implications for your local community.
Collaborate with peers, sustainability professionals and STEM professionals who work in the sustainability industry, on a team project.
Practice STEM and communication skills to design professional level awareness campaigns.
Develop an understanding of how global environmental issues relate to your local community.
Share your findings with peers, family and local environmental justice communities.
Communicate effectively with public officials to advocate for environmental changes.
Qualify for a paid Summer Internship (attendance in Spring semester activities is required).
